EFY and Being Sick
This summer I have the wonderful opportunity to be counselor for Especially For Youth. On late notice I was asked to work a session down in Provo this last week. It turned out to be an unexpected blessing in many ways. First of all it was a wonderful kick start to my summer of EFY. It lifted my spirit and strengthened my testimony of relying on the spirit. I had great co-counselors and wonderful participants. The second unexpected blessing was that it has ended up replacing this week. You see, I was supposed to be working this week in Rexburg but I got sick and was sent home from EFY on Tuesday. Because I worked in Provo last week I won't be working any less weeks than I had originally planned.
I was really sad that I couldn't work this week but at the same time I am kind of excited. Now that I got sent home I can go camping with Kreed's family this weekend. Kreed even said, "I'm sorry but I'm glad you got sick cause now you can go camping". He is silly!
Wednesday was the first day that I started to feel less weak and shaky. I felt good enough that I thought I would try going swing dancing. I figured I could just sit and watch at least. I could dance about every other fast song and I was pretty ok for the slow songs but I still had to sit out and rest for a lot of the night. Kreed was very sweet and didn't make me dance too many songs. I am feeling a lot better today but I am still coughing and get a little light headed every once in a while but I should be all ready for another week of EFY by this weekend.
This is me still sick on the couch even after two whole days of sleeping.

Good Bye Old Friends
I just recently got a brand new pair of very cute black high heels. The best thing about these shoes is that I got them for free. A store in the mall was having a buy one get one free sale on all of their shoes. Stephanie and I went down there to exchange a dress but then of course got stuck when we started looking at shoes. Anyway to make a long story short Stephanie bought a pair of shoes and then told me that I could get a pair and they could be the free ones. How could any girl say no to that? The only sad part of the story is that now I have to retire my old pair of black heels. This is sad because I have had these shoes for at least three or four years and there is a cute little story about how I acquired them for free as well.
All of my relatives and I were at my Grandma's funeral standing around and talking to everyone who had come to pay there respects. I walk over to say hi to my cousin Becky when randomly she asks me my shoe size. That was a weird question to ask at a funeral. Anyway, I told her that I wore a size six and then asked why. She replied with another question. "Do you like these shoes I'm wearing?", she asked. I answered with an immediate, "Yes, I love them". To my surprise she then asked me if I wanted them and the rest is history.
I know it's not a very exciting story but I could not just throw the shoes way that have hung on for so long with out doing something. So I took a picture of the poor shoes and this is all I could think of to do.

Skiing with Dad
A couple of weeks ago I received one of the best gifts I had ever been given. My dad came up to Rexburg for the weekend. Our big event was going skiing at Grand Targhee. The weather was beautiful and we skied all day. Dad also got to go bowling with me and my friends and go to church with me on Sunday. We had the most wonderful weekend and got to talk and laugh and have fun. We had been talking about him coming up but I didn't think that he would actually be able to come. Thank you Dad!! Love ya!

Woodside Swing Night
Every Thursday night, all of us swing kids go dancing at the Woodside. Woodside is really cool old ballroom on the top floor of some apartments on Main Street. We love dancing here. The atmosphere is really laid back and best of all we get to do fun lifts. Here are some of the fun things we get to do on Thursday nights:

ULX!!!!!!
This past weekend a group of us from up here in Rexburg got to go down to Salt Lake and attend the Utah Lindy Exchange. If you didn't know, Last semester I learned The dance of all swing dancing; Lindy Hop. Needless to say I have completely fallen in love with it and just can't get enough. I even asked for swing shoes for my birthday.
Anyway, Kreed drove with just our friend Kadie and I in the car. We there on Friday at about 8:00 pm, went to Walmart to brush our teeth and get food, then got our swing on. That night we danced from 8 to midnight in a fun ballroom then from 1 to about 3:30 in the morning we danced again in a dance studio. The next day we got together with another car of BYU-I students and toured the Conference Center. After that we took a nap then headed off to another night of amazing swing dancing. I don't think I have ever been in such a fun environment in my entire life. It was like being a kid in a candy store. We were surrounded by a full ballroom of people who share the same passion for swing dancing as we do. I even got to run into my cousin Adam Thompson, and dance with him a few times. That had to have been the best weekend of my life so far.
The only think that could pass up that weekend was when Kreed and I decided to date officially this Wednesday. : ) I am still smiling uncontrolably.
