Lindy Hoppers
At the beginning of the semester I started going to Swing Kids on Wednesday nights. The first night, I learned the Lindy Hop. The Lindy Hop is the swing dance of all swing dances. Throughout the semester my roommate Sara and I would make sure we got to the hour long instruction just before swing night started. After a few weeks, I met Kreed who is conveniently short too. This made it easier for us to dance together instead of all those tall people. Throughout the semester I have made quite a few new friends, thanks to Wednesday nights. We have all greatly improved over the 13 week semester. Next semester we plan on swing dancing on both Wednesday nights and Thursday nights. The best thing about Thursday nights is that it won't be on campus so we can do crazy flips and tricks. The last night we danced I ended up with bruises on my arms and lips from being flipped around by strong boys. Lindy Hop is my new passion. I have even been teaching my dad Lindy so that we can dance when ever I come home. He is still learning the basic steps but already loves it too. Maybe someday he will be able to fling me around too.
