Blessings
Sometimes I can't believe how much the Lord blesses me. This semester has been the busiest I have ever had. I am taking sixteen credits and there just never seems to be enough hours in the day for all of the homework/studying and spending time with my friends. Somehow, throughout the semester I have been able to keep A's in almost all of my classes and find time to hang out with friends. A few Monday's ago I had a very frustrating experience. It was the last day to take my chemistry test and I had to go to the Family History Center to complete a project. As soon as my class my last class of the day finished at about 2 in the afternoon, I went straight to the library and got to work. I studied for chemistry for a few hours then did my family history project which took about an hour and a half. After that I went back to studying for my Chemistry test. I had planned to get to the testing center by 6:30 or 7, that way I would have about three hours to take my test. When I finally went to go take my test, all the lights were off and the doors were locked. I had missed my test. It wasn't till then that I remembered that they just started closing the testing center early on Mondays for FHE. Needless to say I was devastated. I made the long walk back to my apartment in the rain while trying to hold back the tears but failing miserably. After being comforted by my wonderful roommates, I decided to do some organizing in my room to help me calm down. As I was going through a box of random things from over the summer, I pulled out a sealed envelope addressed to my mother from me. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was my first check from Platinum Protection that I never sent home for my mom to deposit. I ripped open the envelope only to see a check for about $480. This check was such a blessing because, recent events made it so I barely had any money in my account and didn't know how I was going to live off of that much for the rest of this semester and the next. The cool thing is that one of the reasons why I didn't have much money was because I had just paid my tithing from the summer of over a hundred dollars. I had taken into account that check for $480 that I didn't really have yet when I paid that tithing. It is amazing, the ways the Lord can bless us when we give him the opportunity to.

Baby It's Cold Out Here
Saturday night was the Preference Formal. It really sounded like fun and since it was girl's choice I asked Kreed Bowman. I asked him very late notice but, after teasing me that he would like to go but couldn't, said yes. He thinks he is so funny sometimes. ; ) The night ended up being a blast just as I had hoped. The night was full of laughter and lots of dancing. When Kreed came to pick me up we went down to get in his car only to find it locked with the keys inside. We ended up walking to the dance which was only down in the Manwaring Center anyway. On the way there Kreed asked how much the dance would cost and just told him that it didn't matter because I was paying. We debated and laughed for a few minutes but I eventually won. Once we got to the dance we couldn't help but have fun. The majority of the songs were actually dance able and to our enjoyment they played quite a few swing songs. We are such dorks when it comes to swing dancing. We even requested our favorite swing line dance, The Jitterbug Stroll. We ran into quite a few people we knew. I was lucky enough to run into my cousin Brian Walton and his lovely date, my good friend Frank Leavitt from back home in Vegas, and I even ran into Ben Mills, a very very old friend of my older brother Tom. We hung out with my roommate Sara for a little then left with them so Kreed could have a ride home since he was locked out of his car. When we got to the car, Glen (Sara's date) couldn't find his keys. We couldn't help but laugh at the irony of the situation. After about 10 minutes he found them in the trunk and we were able to get home. We got home at about 11:30 and said our goodbyes. Just like girls always do, Sara and I were forced to spill about how the night went. Needless to say we had lots of great things to say about the night. We both had an extremely fun night. I decided dances are much more fun when you have a date you like dancing with. This was the first dance I have ever been to when that has happened. Happy Day!!
